EVENT LOCALIZATION

Local: All the main activities will be in the Institute of Research on Petroleum and Energy (iLITPEG-UFPE), situated on the campus of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in the west part of the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil

The short course, Opening and Closure ceremonies, plenary and oral sessions will be conducted in the main auditorium of LITPEG (1st floor). Coffee breaks and poster sessions will be in the foyer of the building. Cocktails on the first and last day of the symposium will be held on the 6th floor.

Technical visits will be to plants and industries situated in the Metropolitan Region of Recife.

The Gala dinner will be held in some of the many reception places of Boa Viagem beach or Recife Antigo (historic center).

ACCOMMODATION

Recife is an important tourist destination in Northeast of Brazil, with many attractions like beaches, museum, historical buildings, fortresses, gastronomy, musical and cultural manifestations. o    Pina: Adjacent to Boa Viagem, this area offers some hotels as well as proximity to restaurants and the waterfront. Average distance to UFPE: 11 km.

 

For those considering Airbnb or similar options, Recife offers charming neighborhoods with a green and walkable environment, filled with restaurants, cafes, and local attractions. Consider areas like Espinheiro, Casa Forte, Jaqueira, Parnamirim, and Graças, which provide a residential feel with plenty of amenities nearby. Average distance to UFPE campus: 5 to 6 km.

TRANSPORTATION

The international airport is situated in the Boa Viagem neighborhood and very close to the beaches where hotels can be reached by taxi (several options) very fast (10 to 15 min). However, from Boa Viagem beach to the university campus, it is recommended to consider a time travel of 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the rush hour of the day.
