PILOTE Program
PILOTE is a 4 years program (2013-2017), held by Moacyr Araujo (UFPE, DOCEAN) and Bernard Bourlès (IRD, LEGOS), and supported by CNPq in Brazil (program no. 17/2013) and IRD in France from late 2013. PILOTE is the abbreviation of “Pôle d’Interaction pour une meilleure Lisibilité des études communes en Océanographie Tropicale atlantiquE” in French, which means “Pólo de interação para o desenvolvimento de estudos conjuntos em Oceanografia do Atlântico Tropical“ in Portuguese and “Interaction pole for better readability joint studies in Tropical Atlantic Oceanography” in English.
Objective
The main objective of the project is to bring together various underway scientific projects related to oceanography in the tropical Atlantic as part of collaborations already established between Brazil, France and Africa.
